Function

For the legal team at Equans, we are looking for a Senior Legal Counsel for their Industry South Division (BU SUD) mainly located in the Brussels area (Brussels and Grimbergen) and the Walloon Region (Fleurus, Braine-l’Alleud, Ans) with regular presence in the Brussels office.

Your main responsibilities

  • Lead the team of Legal Counsels of the BU SUD.
  • Draft, negotiate and follow up on all kinds of agreements, including complex contracts and transactions, construction contracts, joint venture agreements, maintenance agreements, shareholders agreements, …
  • Analyze (public and private) tender documents
  • Provide practical legal advice on the most diverse legal issues related to all activities of Equans (contract law, obligations law, public procurement, corporate law, …)
  • Follow up on national disputes/claims involving Equans.

Profile

  • You have a master’s degree in law
  • You have at least 8 years of experience as a lawyer and/or as an in-house legal counsel
  • You have experience or interest in contract law, in construction law, in public procurement and in industrial projects
  • You have talent and interest in negotiating complex contracts and transactions
  • You have interest and insight in the non-legal aspects of a project whether technical, commercial, financial and/or strategic
  • You have strong communication and relational skills
  • You are proactive, positive, pragmatic and have an open mind
  • You are assertive, confident and a real team player, and you can work autonomously at the same time
  • You speak and write fluently French and English. A good command of Dutch is a plus.
